The U14s squad was originally started at as a development squad at U6s with 8 players, with the existing Manager, Gary Burkett. The same squad at U7s, quickly developed into a very close knit and forward thinking team of 15, with 9 boys still playing for Shefford Saints today in different divisions and age groups. From this squad, 7 players, past and present, are currently trialling at professional clubs.

The philosophy of the U14 Red squad is to play football, with the ball on the ground, with a real focus on core skills and teamwork.  The strengths of each player are identified and development plans are in place to help continuous improvement.

As a team, the boys have achieved some marvellous results over the last 8 years playing in more than 21 finals. What has been particularly important has been the reaction of other Managers, parents and officials who often comment on the behaviour and attitude of the players, on and off the pitch.

For the 2011/12 season the team has entered the Eastern Junior Alliance League, which is a big step up from Chiltern.

All our training sessions are open to any player who is thinking of joining the wider squad.
